First official details about the Kia EV9 release date, size & specs.
Kia is going all in on the EV market, and it’s time to get excited!
The EV6 crossover, which is already on sale in US, will soon be followed by the 3-row EV9 large SUV, which already looks stunning (albeit only as a prototype as of now).
We originally saw this model as a concept at the LA Auto Show a couple of years back.
Now, the first prototypes have been seen going through their paces on the streets, and all signs point to the boxy styling of the concept model staying in place with the 2024 Kia EV9 production model.
Kia have backed up that notion by saying that roughly 80-90% of the concept model will appear in the final release.
The first look at the prototype model shows the familiar boxy shape, with some of the body parts toned down from what we saw with the concept EV9.
It’s a slightly less aggressive styling, which is what you would expect in a production-ready vehicle actually.
Some things that did not make the cut from concept to production model include the rear suicide doors and side cameras that were used in place of mirrors. The 3-spoke wheels seen on the concept have also been replaced by more traditional 4-spoke wheels.
While much of the 2024 Kia EV9 prototype is covered in black camo, we can still see creases above the wheel arches that were on the concept model. The same rules apply with the headlights and taillights.
All in all, if you were a fan of the EV9 all-electric concept SUV, you will probably love the production model.
Kia EV9 release date

The release date of the 2024 Kia EV9 is not that far away, with the latest rumors being that we will see it make its global premiere in the early part of 2023.
The belief is that the new Kia EV9 will be released in Europe first before making into US showrooms several months later.
Even though the release date is 2023, the EV9 will go on sale as a 2024 model.
2024 Kia EV9 range & AWD availability

With the official Kia EV 9release date fast approaching, we are seeing some spec details released by sources close to Kia.
What we know so far is that the upcoming EV9 all-electric SUV will have a range in the region of 540 kilometers, or 335 miles, and will accelerate from 0-62 MPH in a lightning fast 5 seconds.
The base model will come equipped with a single electric motor and rear-wheel drive. Moving up the Kia EV9 range, dual electric motors and AWD will be offered.
Kia EV9 to offer quick charging
Just like the EV6, the charging with the EV9 will be fast. You will be able to go from 10-80% charge in just around 20 minutes when using a 350-kWh DC fast charger.
Dimensions of Kia EV9 2024

The 2024 Kia EV9 production model will come with 3 rows of seats and room for 7 passengers.
No measurements have been released to this point, but sources tell us that the dimensions will be 5 meters (196.85 inches) long, nearly 2 meters (78.7 inches) wide, and 1.8 meter (70.86 inches) tall.
From what we have seen, we are pretty excited about the release of the 2024 Kia EV9. This feels like Kia is about to have another hit on their hands.
