Next-gen Ford Mustang will muscle into 2022 Detroit Auto Show

The 2022 Detroit Automobile Present has its very first headliner: an all-new Ford Mustang.

The seventh-generation pony car’s debut Sep. 14 was announced by Ford boss and beginner race driver Jim Farley in a tweet Tuesday. “It’s a spectacular automobile and I’m energized to share it with the entire world!” tweeted Farley, who included the hashtag #SaveTheManuals.

The hashtag appeared to be in reaction to issues that the functionality coupe would ditch its stick change just after comments previously this calendar year by Ali Jammoul, Ford car or truck method director, Icons and Ford General performance, in the Australian publication Wheels.

Classic and modern Ford Mustangs line Nine Mile at Paxton Street in Ferndale during last year's Woodward Dream Cruise. A seventh generation of the pony car is on the way.

“You know, eventually it is heading be phased out, proper?” Jammoul instructed Wheels. “But as long as you can find a market for it and shoppers even now want that better-performing come to feel, it’s going to keep.  . . .”

Jammoul appeared to be referencing Ford’s eventual transition to all-electric powered motor vehicles – not that the new ‘Stang won’t offer a handbook ideal out of the box. Code-named S650 and probably to arrive as a 2024 model, the new Mustang is predicted to be based mostly on the present-day muscle mass car system that has been a strike since its introduction in 2015.
