Paterson man charged with allegedly stealing South Amboy police vehicle; crashes in Woodbridge

WOODBRIDGE – A 28-yr-outdated Paterson gentleman was charged with allegedly thieving a South Amboy police car or truck, according to Scott Kuzma, township main law enforcement officer.

The South Amboy Law enforcement Office recommended Woodbridge law enforcement that a marked law enforcement device was stolen from their jurisdiction at approximately 1:05 p.m. on July 4, police reported.

A shorter time afterwards, the stolen law enforcement auto was allegedly associated in a motor automobile crash on Route 35 close to South Park Push in Woodbridge. The stolen motor vehicle continued north the place it was allegedly included in a 2nd crash on Route 1 north in close proximity to Avenel Street, police claimed.

After the 2nd crash, the suspect allegedly fled on foot traveling north in the southbound lanes of Route 1. He allegedly tried to enter and carjack various automobiles ahead of getting apprehended, law enforcement reported.

The suspect is charged with 3 counts of carjacking, acquiring stolen residence, assault by auto, resisting arrest, endangering an wounded victim and obstructing the administration of legislation or other governmental perform. He was processed at the Woodbridge Law enforcement Office and transported to the Middlesex County Corrections Middle in North Brunswick.
